ADHD

What Is ADHD?

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental difference that can affect attention, organisation, impulse control, energy levels and emotional regulation. It can look different from person to person, and many people are not diagnosed until adulthood.

Living with ADHD can sometimes bring challenges such as feeling overwhelmed, struggling with routines, procrastination, low self-esteem or difficulty managing emotions. It may also come with strengths such as creativity, curiosity and the ability to focus deeply on areas of interest.

Can Counselling Support People with ADHD?

Yes. ADHD-informed counselling can provide a supportive space to better understand how ADHD affects your daily life, relationships and sense of self.

Therapy may help with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, rejection sensitivity, self-esteem, masking and developing approaches that work with your needs rather than against them.

How Do I Make an Appointment?

You can explore our therapists’ profiles and contact someone directly, or complete our general enquiry form. A member of The Coping Corner may contact you to learn more about the support you are seeking and help connect you with a suitable therapist.
