Alcohol Use
When Alcohol Becomes Difficult to Manage
Your relationship with alcohol can change over time. For some people, drinking may gradually become a way of coping with stress, difficult emotions, painful experiences or challenges in everyday life.
You may be questioning how much you are drinking, noticing that alcohol is affecting your mood, relationships or wellbeing, or simply wanting to understand your drinking habits better. You do not need to identify as having an addiction to seek support.
How Can Therapy Help?
Therapy offers a confidential, non-judgemental space to explore your relationship with alcohol and the role it may be playing in your life.
It may help you to:
Understand what may be contributing to your drinking
Recognise triggers and recurring patterns
Explore difficult emotions or experiences linked to alcohol use
Develop alternative ways of coping with stress or overwhelm
Consider the impact alcohol may be having on your relationships or wellbeing
Explore changes you may want to make at your own pace
The Coping Corner does not provide detoxification or specialist addiction treatment. Where alcohol dependence is present, additional support from a GP or specialist addiction service may be recommended alongside therapy.
